MALAMULELE POLICE ARRESTS MALE SUSPECT FOR MURDER OF HIS BROTHER AT SHIGAMANI VILLAGE

POLOKWANE : Police in Malamulele have arrested a 31-year-old male suspect in connection with a murder incident that occurred on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, at about 23:30, at Shigamani Village.

It is alleged that the deceased, aged 35, had just arrived home from Gauteng Province when he became involved in a heated argument with his younger brother. Two sisters reportedly attempted to calm the situation.

During the argument, the suspect allegedly armed himself with an object and stabbed the deceased on the upper body. The victim collapsed, and the suspect fled the scene.

A neighbour transported the injured victim to a local healthcare centre. Police and Emergency Medical Services were summoned, and later, he was certified dead.

Following investigations, the suspect aged 31, was traced and arrested on Thursday , 25 December 2025, at about 07:00, at Mphambo Village after members of the community alerted the police.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 December 2025, facing a charge of murder.

Investigations are continuing.
