Ten senior municipal officials from the Molemole Local Municipality, aged between 35 and 60, appeared before court in connection with an alleged fraud and corruption matter.

During proceedings, the defence placed statements before the court in support of the accused’s bail application. The court thereafter reserved judgment.

The matter has been postponed to 24 April 2026 for the bail judgment. All accused remain in custody.

In light of the ongoing investigation, the identities of the accused cannot be disclosed at this stage.

Further arrests has not been ruled out.
