MURDER SUSPECTS NABBED SEPARATELY AT TSHILWAVHUSIKU AND MOKWAKWAILA POLICING AREAS
POLOKWANE – Police in Tshilwavhusiku, in Vhembe District and Mokwakwaila in Mopani District have arrested murder suspects in two separate incidents that occurred on Friday, 26 December 2025.
In the Tshilwavhusiku policing area, police are investigating a murder case following an incident that occurred at approximately 05:45. According to reports, police received a complaint from Tshilwavhusiku Clinic regarding a critically injured person. The victim was transported to the clinic by a private vehicle, where emergency medical treatment was administered. However, the victim later succumbed to the injuries sustained.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim, who was allegedly known to be involved in criminal activities, was attacked by a group of individuals believed to be members of his own group . He was allegedly assaulted using various dangerous weapons.
Following an intensive police investigation, four suspects were arrested in connection with this incident.
Meanwhile, police in the Mokwakwaila policing area have also opened a murder case following an incident that occurred at approximately 20:30 at Mokgwathi Village. Police, accompanied by Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a complaint and upon arrival found the body of the deceased lying in the street in a pool of blood.
The deceased had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased allegedly ran from the suspect’s homestead before collapsing in the street. EMS personnel certified the victim dead at the scene.
A 35-year-old suspect, who is reportedly the uncle of the deceased, was traced and arrested with the assistance of members from Letsitele SAPS and Public Order Policing (POP) in Giyani.
The identities of the deceased persons in both incidents are currently being withheld pending further investigation.
The arrested suspects are expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Courts on Monday, 29 December 2025.
Police investigations into both cases are continuing.
