CAPRICORN DISTRICT TRACING TEAM NABBED A 27 YEAR-OLD FOREIGN NATIONAL ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED IN A SPATE OF STOCK-THEFT INCIDENTS IN CAPRICORN AND VHEMBE DISTRICTS

POLOKWANE: The members of Capricorn District Tracing Team have on Monday 22 April 2024 conducted a tactical Operation Wafa Wafa in Makhado precinct aimed at tracing a suspect who was allegedly involved in a spate of stock-theft incidents in Capricorn and Vhembe Districts.

The suspect was reportedly slaughtering the cattle and wild animals inside the local farms in Alldays and Mara policing areas and later sold the meat for his own benefit. While busy with the operation, police managed to locate the suspect who was seated inside a grey Mahindra Bolero bakkie that was spotted at a park next to the Information Center.

Police approached the motor vehicle and interrogated the suspect about the crimes that were committed in Alldays and Mara policing areas respectively.

A foreign National was subsequently linked to the crimes that were committed and was immediately placed under an arrest on the spot. In addition, a grey Mahindra Bolero bakkie believed to be used in the commission of the crimes was also confiscated during his apprehension.

A 27 year-old Zimbabwean National is expected to appear before the Senwabarwana Magistrate court on Wednesday 24 April 2024 facing charges of stock-theft.

Police investigations are continuing.
