ANC LIMPOPO STATEMENT FOLLOWING THE PEC MEETING HELD ON 31
OCTOBER 2022
The African National Congress (ANC) Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee (PEC)
held its ordinary meeting on Monday, 31st October 2022. The PEC meeting was also
attended by NEC deployees to Limpopo Province.
The ANC PEC meeting was convened in order to asess the state of the organization
and well as processes leading up to the 55th National Conference.The PEC meeting
received and engaged the political overview presented by the ANC Provincial
Chairperson, Cde Chupu Stanley Mathabatha.
The political overview pointed to the need to continue engaging with former
presidents of the ANC as they are our beacon of hope, the peaceful Branch General
Meetings (BMG’s) and the speedy resolution of BGM’s disputes in a fair and
consistent manner.
The Chairperson political overview laid a solid foundation for the frank and honest
discussions in the PEC meeting, which resolved as follows:
ON MEETING WITH FORMER PRESIDENT THABO MBEKI.
The PEC welcomed the efforts made by the Provincial Secretary in leading the PEC
delegation to engage with ANC former President Cde Thabo Mbeki and further
encourage the leadership to engage further with other former presidents.
COMMEMORATION OF MAMA ALBERTINA SISULU.
The month of October marked the birthday month of Mama Albertina Sisulu and the
PEC commended the Political Lecture delivered by the Provincial Secretary on the
life and times of Mama Albertina Sisulu at Waterberg Region in Thabazimbi.
The Political Lecture served as reminder of the role played by Cde Albertina Sisulu
during the liberation struggle. The celebration of the struggle icon was a example
of preserving our rich history against colonialism.
The PEC shall continue to remember Cde Mama Albertina for the sacrifices made
during the liberation struggle.
ON BRANCH GENERAL MEETING AND DISPUTES
The PEC welcomed the branch verification reports and commended branches of the
ANC across the province for hosting successful and peaceful BGM’s.

The ANC PEC calls on all outstanding branches to convene their BGMs before the 7
November 2022 cut-off, in a manner that will continue to reflect values of the ANC.
The Provincial Dispute Resolution Committie was directed to deal speedily with all
disputes submitted to the Provincial office, which relate to the 55th National
Conference.
ON WATER CRISIS IN POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY AND SORROUNDING
AREAS
The ANC Limpopo noted the water challenges in Polokwane, Seshego and
Sorrounding areas, the PEC further noted the efforts and progress made by
Polokwane Municipality, working jointly with National Government and all stake
holders, in a quest to resolve the water challenges and to that effect resolved that
progress of the matter should be reported to the Rapid Response Team, which is
headed by the Provincial Deputy Chairperson.
The PEC further condemn the incidents of violence which erupted during the march
by Seshego residents wherein a Great North Transport Bus was burned. Whilst the
ANC PEC accepts and respects the constitutional rights of citizens to march, the PEC
calls on residents to desist from burning public infrastructure and disturbing the
livelihood of other persons.
ON PROVINCIAL DISCIPLINARY MATTERS
The PEC noted the developments relating to disciplinary matters and further urged
the Provincial Disciplinary Committee to speedily finalize all matters referred to
them for processing.
IN CONCLUSION
The ANC Limpopo PEC wishes matriculants well in their final examinations.
The ANC Limpopo PEC calls upon all parents and guardians, teachers and all
stakeholders to provide learners with all necessary support through this
examination period.
