POLOKWANE- The Police in Sekhukhune have arrested a 38 year old suspect for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition during a snap operation conducted on Friday 14 October 2022 in the Sekhukhune policing area.
The arrest comes after members of the community informed the police about a foreign National suspect in possession of unlicensed firearm at the rental premises in Tshehlwaneng Village.Upon arrival, the members searched the place and found one 9mm pistol and 10 live rounds of ammunition.The suspect was immediately arrested.
Further investigation will be conducted to determine the origin of the firearm and whether it was used in the commission of any crime.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 October 2022 facing charges unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
