SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF SUSPECTED STOLEN PROPERTY AND CONTRAVENTION OF IMMIGRATION ACT

POLOKWANE: The Police in Polokwane have arrested a 35-year-old male suspect for possession of suspected stolen property and contravention of the Immigration Act following an intelligence-driven operation conducted on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

The operation was executed by members of the Provincial Flying Squad, in collaboration with Mighty Tactical Reaction Services.

During the operation, members intercepted a white Toyota Quantum travelling along the R101 in Polokwane. Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered a solar inverter and a solar battery suspected to be stolen property.

The suspect (35), was unable to provide satisfactory proof of lawful possession of the items and further failed to produce valid documentation to be in the country.

He was subsequently arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and contravention of the Immigration Act.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 02 March 2026.

The Police investigations are ongoing.
