MOTETEMA POLICE INVESTIGATE TWO COUNTS OF MURDER AND TWO ATTEMPTED MURDER INCIDENTS AT MASHITANENG VILLAGE
POLOKWANE: The South African Police Service in Motetema under Sekhukhune District are investigating two counts of murder and two attempted murder incidents that took place at Mashitaneng village on Saturday 18 October 2025 at about 12:50.
Police received a complaint about a shooting incident and rushed to the vicinity. On arrival they found a cream white VW Jetta motor vehicle parked on the side of the road with four male occupants who sustained severe gunshot wounds.
Upon further investigation, police noticed multiplebullets holes on the side of the motor vehicle and a firearm. The members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to the scene and declared two males dead on arrival . The other two victims aged 38 and 51 were transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment.
Reports suggest that
the victims were seated inside the motor vehicle when suddenly a grey VW Polo sedan emerged and stopped from the opposite direction with four unknown male suspects.
The suspects suddenly fired shots at the victims and immediately drove off from the scene with VW Polo motor vehicle without registration numbers.
