BOTLOKWA POLICE NABBED A 48 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT FOR MURDER AND TWO MALE SUSPECTS FOR RAPING TWO MINOR VICTIMS
POLOKWANE: The police in Botlokwa under Capricorn District have arrested a 48 year-old male suspect in connection with the murder of 42 year-old male victim at Ga-Sikhwama village on Saturday 18 October 2025.
In the same breath , his nephew aged 30 and accomplice aged 28 were also apprehended for rape of minor children aged 10 at the same village.
It is alleged that on 08 October 2025 at about 08:30, two female victims were at the residence of a 28 year-old male suspect who later gave them money to purchase sweets.
On Saturday 18 October 2025, the mother of the victim noticed strange behaviour about her daughter who was not walking properly and decided to take them to the hospital.
A medical doctor examined the minors and subsequently confirmed that they were raped. A rape case was opened at the local police station and a 28 year-old male suspect was arrested at his residence.
A 30 year-old male was allegedly caught by members of the community after they accused him of raping the two minor girls. Police were summoned at the scene but they met a violatile situation by the mob and as such they had to call reinforcement .
The 48 year old who is said to be the uncle of the 30 year old man accused of rape allegedly pulled out a licensed firearm and fired a shots at the mob who ran to different directions and in the process a 42 male was caught by bullet on the left thigh.
Police together with the members of Public Order Policing (POP) while busy assessing the scene, they then found a 30 year-old rape suspect with his uncle. A 42 year-old was later found a few meters with a gunshot wound.
The Emergency Medical Services were summoned and certified the victim dead upon their arrival at the scene.
The duo were immediately arrested and one firearm was confiscated at the scene.
The three male suspects , including a 48 year uncle of the 30 year old will appear before the Morebeng Magistrate court soon facing respective charges of murder and rape
Police investigations are continuing.
