BREAKING NEWS: Afriforum Calls for Investigation into ANC Leaders Over Apartheid-Era Terror Claims
Afriforum has submitted a formal request to the Khampepe Commission, established to probe delays in prosecuting apartheid-era crimes, to investigate ANC leaders for alleged acts of terror during the apartheid era. The organization’s CEO, Kallie Kriel, claims to possess information that warrants prosecution.
The GOOD party has criticized Afriforum’s move, accusing the organization of “weaponizing whataboutism to whitewash accountability” for apartheid-era crimes. GOOD party officials argue that Afriforum’s request is an attempt to deflect attention from crimes committed by apartheid security forces.
Kriel’s submission comes as the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) continues to investigate apartheid-era crimes. Afriforum’s request has sparked controversy, with many questioning the organization’s motives and timing.
The debate highlights ongoing tensions and complexities surrounding South Africa’s post-apartheid justice and reconciliation process.
