MUSA KHAULA CASE POSTPONED FOR FORMAL BAIL APPLICATION
The Randburg Magistrates Court has postponed the case Musa Khawula (33), to 29 January 2025, for a formal bail application. Khawula faces charges of crimen injuria and contempt of court. The accused is alleged to have posted defamatory statements on his social media platform, which has a large following between 10 and 12 October 2024, with the alleged intention of harming the dignity of businessman Zesimdumise Nxumalo (44).
During the proceedings, the state was prepared to proceed with the bail application, however, the defence requested a postponement, stating they needed additional time to prepare a comprehensive bail statement. Khawula is remanded in custody until the hearing of his formal application.
