MEC MAVHUNGU LERULE-RAMAKHANYA TO ATTEND THE QUEEN MODJADJI LAUNCH EVENT.
Limpopo Education MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya will today, 11 July 2024 join multitudes of dignitaries and creative arts fanatics who will honour the invitation by Multichoice to attend the launch of the Balobedu-inspired historic drama series, Queen Modjadji. The Series will air on the pay channel platforms for the first time in history, which its storylines are filmed in Khelobedu as part of telling a good story of the baLobedu people and its kingdom’s historical background to the world.
The use of mother tongue will go a long way in preserving the indigenous languages that are said to be dwindling and not maximally used in the schools across the country. The Limpopo Education Department supports a view that suggests that mother tongue education leads to a better academic performance. The MEC believes that the initiative will encourage all those who are in the creative industry to follow-suit and take pride in their own languages.
The MEC takes immense pride to be part of the historical event because the movie does not only depicts the history of Balobedu but also pave a way for creative minds to take our local languages to international stages.
