LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL ECDs LAUNCH AND INFRASTRUCTURE HANDOVER.
Limpopo Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children attend school from the early age and to make use of the Early Childhood Develepment Centres in their areas. The MEC was speaking at Masisi outside Musina during the launch of ECDs and the handing over of a Low Cost ECD centre.
The ECDs were shifted from the Department of Social Development to Education following a Directive from President Ramaphosa. Over 3 thousand centres were transfered to the Limpopo Department of Education in 2022. The Drive to register more creches especially in the most remote and rural areas like Masisi is underway. MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya has also urged parents and community members to take care of the infrastructure provided by government. The provision of infrastructure is key for the improvement of results for all grades and the development of learners at the foundation phase. The emphasis was on the parents to safeguard their infrastructure for the coming generation.
