Suspended Deputy National Commissioner Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya is facing imminent arrest, with a team of SAPS members arriving at his Centurion home to arrest him on charges of defeating the ends of justice. His lawyer, Ian Levitt, claims they weren’t informed of the specific charges.
Sibiya’s troubles began when KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi accused him of interfering with the KZN political killings task team. Mkhwanazi alleged Sibiya conspired with Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and information peddler Brown Mogotsi to disband the task team.
