MaMkhize’s Financial Empire Crumbles Amid Tax Woes and Controversy
Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, a prominent South African businesswoman and reality TV star, is facing severe financial difficulties due to unpaid taxes amounting to approximately R40 million. The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has taken drastic measures, including auctioning off 14 of her luxury vehicles worth R37 million.

Background of the Tax Dispute
MaMkhize’s tax troubles began in 2022, when she was accused of owing R12.7 million, which has since ballooned to over R40 million. SARS raided her Durban residence in late 2024, seizing high-end vehicles and other assets. The businesswoman has been embroiled in a lengthy court battle with SARS, which recently ruled in favor of the revenue service, granting them control over Royal AM’s administration.

Royal AM’s Future Uncertain
MaMkhize’s football club, Royal AM, has been placed under curatorship due to her ongoing tax issues. The club’s future hangs in the balance, with the possibility of liquidation looming. Despite the turmoil, MaMkhize has expressed interest in acquiring Moneni Pirates, an Eswatini-based football team, but the club’s chairman has firmly dismissed any possibility of a sale or partnership.

Controversy and Allegations
MaMkhize has been embroiled in several controversies, including allegations of collaborating with the “construction mafia” and links to an assassination attempt on a SARS official. She has also been accused of forging her sister’s signature to buy Royal AM and using her as a front to hide assets from her ex-husband.

MaMkhize’s Response
Despite the challenges, MaMkhize has made a defiant comeback on social media, posting pictures of herself in designer clothes and declaring she’s in “lioness mode”. Her actions have sparked widespread outrage, with many expressing concern over her remarks and actions
