LIMPOPO POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED RAPE OF TWO MINORS THAT TOOK PLACE AT SEPARATE LOCATIONS

POLOKWANE: The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has ordered the immediate apprehension of unknown suspects who allegedly raped two minors in Letsitele and Hlogotlou policing areas.

On Friday, 17 May 2024 at about 23:00, a 17-year-old girl was asleep at home in Xihoko village under Letsitele policing area when she felt someone touching her body. The victim woke up and saw an unknown male pointing her with a firearm and ordered her not to scream to avoid being shot.

The suspect covered his face with a T-shirt and demanded money from the victim, but the victim had no money. The suspect raped the victim and fled the scene through an open window.

Meanwhile, a 5-year-old girl was raped at Eenzaam village under Hlogotlou precinct on Friday, 17 May 2024.

It is reported that the victim’s mother became suspicious when she returned from school crying, and when she checked on her, realised she might have been raped. She immediately took the girl to a local clinic for medical examination where it was confirmed that she was raped.

The matter was reported to the local police. The suspect is currently unknown, and police investigations are ongoing.
