ACCUSED PERSON CONVICTED AND SENTENCED FOR DRUG DEALING
NORTHERN CAPE – Upington Regional Court convicted and sentenced (60) Mirry Ann Louw on two counts of dealing in drugs. The conviction comes after a lengthy trial until the accused pleaded guilty and entered into a section 105 plea agreement with the State. The accused was arrested in February 2022, as part of project dumper takedown, she was out on bail of R2000 until her conviction.
The court sentenced Mirry Ann Louw to three (3) years direct imprisonment on both charges and the sentence will run concurrently. The suspect was further found unfit to possess a firearm.
The Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation in Northern Cape, Major General Stephen Mabuela appreciated the investigating and prosecutorial team for the conviction.
