MAKHADO FCS ACTIVATED MASSIVE MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTS WHO GANG-RAPED A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT TSHITUNI THEMBALUVHILO VILLAGE

POLOKWANE: Members of SAPS in Makhado Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), are investigating a case of rape, following an incident in which a 15-year-old girl was gangraped. A vi who is also a learner at one of the secondary schools in Mphephu policing area. The incident took place between the morning of Friday, 26 January, and the morning of Saturday, 27 January 2024.

It is reported the victim was with her friend, going to different schools, when they hitch hiked a white Polo driven by an unknown man, who was alone. The driver dropped the victim’s friend, while on the way to the victim’s school, he made a turn and went to Tshituni Thembaluvhilo village, where he forced her to enter into a certain house and raped her.

While there, the other two males came and they also raped her. The three suspects took her to another house next to creche at the same village. They found another male who raped her as well. The four suspects raped her throughout the night, making turns, until they released her at about 08h00 in the morning, on Saturday, 27 January 2024.

On Monday, 29 January 2024, she reported the incident to her brother, and a case of rape was opened.

The case docket was transferred to Makhado FCS for further Police investigations.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo SAPS Major Jan Scheepers strongly condemned the incident and urged community members to refrain from hitchhiking as it their puts their lives in danger.
