MPHEPHU POLICE EFFECTED AN ARREST OF A 40 YEAR-OLD FEMALE SUSPECT RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSAULT AND MURDER
MPHEPHU: A 40 year-old female suspect will appear before the Dzanani Magistrate court on Tuesday, 28 November 2023 facing charges of assault grievous bodily harm (GBH) and murder that took place at Makushu village under Mphephu policing precinct in Vhembe District on Saturday, 25 November 2023 at about 02:30.
The deceased aged 40 and her 34 year-old sister were at a tarven with the suspect when they started to argue about family matters.
A 34 year-old victim allegedly pushed the suspect with an empty crate and she fell on the ground. Unexpectedly, the duo started to assault a 40 year-old suspect who immediately picked up a broken bottle and stabbed the older sister on the neck and the other on the hand and shoulders.
Both sisters were rushed to Makhado Health Center but the older one succumbed to her injuries upon their arrival.
The incident was reported at Mphephu SAPS and the suspect was subsequently apprehended at her residence at about 06:00.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a cousin of the deceased.
Police are investigations are continuing.
