MADAZHE TO CHOOSE RAMATHUBA SLATE IN THE ANC CONFERENCE”
With less than two months to go until the ANC Limpopo Conference, two factions have emerged, sparking intense rivalry. Premier Phophi Ramathuba’s camp has garnered enough support, with the current Secretary Reuben Madadzhe playing a pivotal role. As Secretary, Madadzhe controls the conference packages sent by branches, making him a key figure in the proceedings.
Madadzhe’s allegiance remains uncertain, with both Ramathuba and John Mpe’s slates vying for his support. Political Analyst Therry Letsoalo says Madazhe is more likely to lean towards Ramathuba’s camp, potentially securing himself a top spot for the second term as the Provincial Secretary.
Ramathuba is supported by Waterberg, Vhembe, Sekhukhune, Mopani and Peter Mokaba region. Amongst the structures that openely declared Ramathuba as the chairperson include the ANC Women’s League.
Limpopo is set to hold its elective conference on March 27, 2026. Phophi Ramathuba’s slate includes Reuben Madazhe, Tala Mathope as Deputy Secretary, and Tonny Rachoene as Treasury.
The Deputy Chairperson position is up for grabs, with Basikopo Makamu, Pule Shai, and Makoma Makhurupetje throwing their hats into the ring.
