THOHOYANDOU POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER INCIDENT AT SIBASA

POLOKWANE: The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Thohoyandou has launched investigations after police were summoned to a murder incident at Sibasa, next to the taxi rank, at around 02:00 on Sunday, 28 December 2025.

Upon arrival at the scene, the body of an unknown African male, estimated to be about 40 years old, was found lying on the ground next to the road. The deceased had sustained stab wounds on the upper body, allegedly inflicted with an unknown sharp object.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended to the scene and certified the victim dead. Police opened a case of murder for further investigation.

The deceased is described as dark in complexion and was wearing a red top, blue jeans and black boots at the time of discovery.

Circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. The identity of the deceased is unknown.
