MANHUNT LAUNCHED AFTER A TRADITIONAL HEALER WAS FATALLY SHOT AT WORCESTER VILLAGE
POLOKWANE The Police in Maake Mopani district continue to leave no stone unturned after a 67-year-old male victim was fatally shot while at his homestead in Worcester village on Sunday, 21 December 2025 at around 17:00.
The Police received information about a male person lying with a gunshot wounds at Worcester village. Upon arrival at the crime scene, they found a male person who pointed a male victim lying unconscious under the verander. Further information stated that the complainant arrived at home and found the victim lying at the veranda having a gunshot wounds, and he proceeded into the house, where his grandmother was watching TV. The grandmother was informed that her husband has been shot.
The family summoned the emergency medical service, and he was declared dead on the scenes. The police also were called, on their arrival at the crime scene, they started with their preliminary investigation leading to the recovery of a 9 mm cartridge on the crime scene which will form part of investigations.
The deceased was identified as Michel Maanaso, known as traditional healer.
The suspects are still unknown at this stage but the investigation continues. The motive behind the fatal shooting currently unknown.
