MAN ARRESTED FOR THE ALLEGED MURDER OF HIS GIRLFRIEND IN WINDHOEK VILLAGE, SENWABARWANA

POLOKWANE : The Police in Senwabarwana under Capricorn District have arrested a 40-year-old male suspect following the murder of his girlfriend at Windhoek village during the early hours of Monday, 24 November 2025.

According to preliminary reports, the deceased, a 36-year-old woman from Springfield, was involved in a domestic altercation with her partner on Sunday, 23 November 2025, at about 20:00. Apparently, a fight erupted between the two while in their room.

The fight continued until the early hours of the morning at about 04:00, where the suspect reported to his younger sister that his girlfriend was no longer talking.

They went together to his room where the victim was allegedly lying motionless on the floor, with bruises on her face and bloodstains on the floor.

The suspect then fled to a nearby mountain. Police were informed, and upon arrival, they found that the victim was covered with a duvet. Then Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were also summoned and certified the victim dead at the scene.

Police launched a search that led to the suspect arrested while hiding on the mountain.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemns acts of domestic violence and urges community members to seek assistance when facing conflict in relationships.

The suspect will appear before the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

The Police investigations are ongoing.
