SANTACO sends condolences to families of victims of the Dullstroom, Mpumalanga accident.

The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) conveys its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the Seven people who tragically lost their lives in a road accident on Sunday, 26 October 2025. The horrific crash occurred around 14:00 on the R540 between Dullstroom and Lydenburg (Mashishing), when a GWM Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a minibus taxi were involved in a T-bone collision.

According to SANTACO Mpumalanga Hlokomela Road Safety Champion Mr. K.W Moropa who visited the scene of the accident, the taxi which was travelling from Ohrigstad to Johannesburg had only recently left the rank when the accident occurred.

SANTACO extends its heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by this tragedy and wishes a speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries.

The Chairperson of the
Ohrigstad Local and Long distance Taxi Associations (OLLDTA) Johannes Malisa visited the injured persons who are receiving medical treatment in Nelspruit at a hospital today where alongside other taxi industry leadership, they also learnt that the number of the deceased has increased by 1 person.

SANTACO encourages all drivers to always follow the rules of the road to preserve lives.
