POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTS FOLLOWING BUSINESS ROBBERY AND BURGLARY INCIDENTS AT SCHOOLS IN MALAMULELE

POLOKWANE: The Police in Malamulele under Vhembe District have launched a manhunt for suspects following two separate incidents of business robbery and burglary that occurred at schools in the area.

In the first incident, which took place at Mahonisi Primary School during the early hours of Saturday, 25 October 2025 at about 03:00, a security guard on duty was attacked by four unknown male suspects wearing balaclavas. It is alleged that one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the guard and fired a shot before overpowering and tying him up. The suspects then took him to the administration block, broke into one of the offices, and forced open a safe. They made off with several laptops, airtime vouchers, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The security guard was later found locked inside the safe by the school principal in the morning.

In a separate incident reported at Humula High School in Mukhomi village, suspects broke into the administration block between Friday, 24 October and Saturday, 25 October 2025. Several offices were ransacked, and a safe was found cut open with laptops stolen.

Police have opened cases of business robbery and business burglary respectively. Both incidents are being investigated by Sergeant Mabunda of Malamulele SAPS.
