BREAKING NEWS: Ramaphosa’s Remarks Spark Outrage as He Appears to Praise DA-Led Councils

A storm has erupted within the African National Congress (ANC) after President Cyril Ramaphosa seemingly praised Democratic Alliance (DA)-led councils during a Councillor Roll workshop. The workshop, attended by all ANC councillors in South Africa, was intended to rally support ahead of the local government elections.

However, Ramaphosa’s remarks have been met with fierce criticism from ANC supporters, who have taken to social media to express their outrage. Many have accused the President of indirectly campaigning for the DA, with some labeling him a “sellout.”

The controversy surrounds Ramaphosa’s statement that DA-led councils are “far much better” than those led by the ANC. This comment has sparked concerns that the President’s words will undermine the confidence of ANC councillors and negatively impact the party’s performance at the polls.

Furthermore, ANC Chairperson Gwede Mantashe’s comments at the same workshop have added fuel to the fire. Mantashe reportedly referred to ANC councillors as “fools” who are only capable of singing but lack the ability to lead.

The backlash against Ramaphosa’s remarks has been swift, with many calling for him to clarify his comments and reassure ANC supporters of his commitment to the party. As the local government elections approach, the ANC can ill afford a rift within its ranks, and Ramaphosa’s comments have undoubtedly created a challenging situation for the party.
