POLOKWANE POLICE RE-ARREST AN AWAITING-TRIAL PRISONER, 29, WHO ESCAPED FROM LAWFUL CUSTODY IN POLOKWANE COURT
POLOKWANE: A 29-year-old male,, an awaiting-trial prisoner who escaped from Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday , 03 September 2025 was re-arrested at Moletjie, Ga Semenya, on Friday, 05 September 2025.
It is alleged that the awaiting trial prisoner 29, escaped from Polokwane Magistrate’s Court after his court appearance on Wednesday, 03 September 2025, in the Westernburg case of armed robbery with aggravating circumstances, and his case was postponed to Thursday, 30 October 2025.
Police discovered that the suspect escaped from lawful custody during a routime check , and the search operation was immediately conducted. The suspect was re-arrested at Moletjie Ga-semenya on Friday, 05 September 2025 in the morning
Circumstances surrounding the incident that led to the escape are under police investigation.
He will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 September 2025, facing charges of escaping from lawful custody.
