MALE SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF A GIRLFRIEND AT GA-PATAMEDI BLOCK 5 IN MOKWAKWAILA POLICING AREA
POLOKWANE: A 34-year-old male suspect will appear before Kgapane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, in connection with the alleged murder of a 24-year-old woman (girlfriend) on Sunday, 17 August 2025, at Ga-Patamedi, Block 5, Mokwakwaila policing area, at about 6:00.
It is reported that the police were alerted to a murder at Ga-Patamedi block 5; upon arrival, they discovered a female victim lying on the floor inside a room covered with a blanket with scratch marks on the face and neck.
It is alleged that the victim and suspect had an altercation that resulted in a physical fight, and the suspect’s brother interfered and left them there.
Later on, he found the victim lying on a floor.
The suspect’s brother notified the police.
The victim was certified dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Service.
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
The suspect was arrested and charged with murder, and he would appear before kgapane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 19 August 2025.
