A 48 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT ARRESTED IN TSHAULU FOLLOWING THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE
POLOKWANE: The members of police in Tshaulu under Vhembe District have apprehended a 48 year-old male suspect in connection with a brutal murder of a 41 year-old woman believed to be his wife at Tshidzini Mutshili under Tshaulu policing area.
On Saturday 02 August 2025 at about 12:50, the victim’s son arrived at home when he met with his father walking out of the gate. He then asked him about the whereabouts of his mother but his father started to shout at him and even promised to beat him.
He then went to a two roomed house intending to search for his mother but found the door locked on his arrival. He broke the door to gain entry and was shocked to see the lifeless body of his mother laying in a pool of blood.
Police and members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned and a 41 year-old female victim was certified dead on their arrival at the scene.
The deceased sustained severe injuries on the upper body and her left hand was also cut off during the horrific incident.
Following the incident, a murder case was opened and the suspect was later apprehended the same day on Saturday, 02 August 2025.
The motive of the incident is currently unknown at this stage but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
A 48 year-old male suspect is due to appear before the local Magistrate court soon facing a charge of murder.
Police investigations are continuing.
