PREMIER DR RAMATHUBA TO KICKSTART MANDELA MONTH BY RESTORING DREAMS OF A LIMPOPO MUSICIAN

In the true spirit of Nelson Mandela’s legacy of compassion and humanity, Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba will kickstart Mandela Month by extending a hand of hope to a local musician who will be fitted with prosthetic legs at Pietersburg Hospital in Polokwane, Capricorn District, on Thursday, 17 July 2025.

This intervention follows an encounter on 01 May 2025 during the COSATU May Day celebrations at Peter Mokaba Stadium, where the Premier was deeply moved by the inspiring performance of the musician performing on limbs. Touched by his resilience and talent, Premier Dr Ramathuba immediately committed to ensuring that he receives the medical support he needs.

The artist was assessed by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, including orthotics and prosthetics specialists. After a thorough clinical assessment, preparations were finalised for the fitting of prosthetic legs complete with foam covers to provide both function and dignity.

Premier Dr Ramathuba will personally witness this life-changing moment, emphasising the provincial government’s commitment to building a caring society that uplifts the most vulnerable.

“As we celebrate Mandela Month, we are reminded of Madiba’s timeless lesson that ‘our human compassion binds us the one to the other.’ By restoring this musician’s ability to stand tall, we are not only honouring his dreams but also keeping alive Tata Mandela’s vision of a society where we all reach out our hands to lift one another,” said Premier Dr Ramathuba
