MANHUNT LAUNCHED FOR AN AWAITING TRIAL PRISONER WHO ESCAPED FROM LAWFUL CUSTODY IN MAAKE

POLOKWANE: The Police in Maake under Mopani District have launched a manhunt for an awaiting trial prisoner, Mola Matome Reuben Modiba aged 29 who escaped from police cells on Monday, 30 June 2025, at about 13:30.

The suspect was initially arrested for a burglary residence case reported during April 2025.

Police were allegedly escorting the suspect to the cells after being charged by the detective when he allegedly escaped.

Circumstances surrounding the incident that led to the escape is under Police investigations

A team of detectives has been appointed to trace the suspect.

Members of the community are urged not to attempt to apprehend the suspect as that might threaten their safety.
