POLICE CONFISCATE ABANDONED ITEMS AND NAB ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS DURING OPERATION VALA UMGODI
POLOKWANE: The members of Operation Vala Umgodi in Limpopo continue to disrupt illegal mining activities and related crimes in the province. This was evident after twenty-two (22) suspects aged between 18 and 52 were arrested for contravention of immigration act at the Marble Hall and Makhado Policing areas, on 2025-05-23 and 2025-05-24.
In Marble Hall Policing area, nineteen (19) suspects arrested for contravention of immigration act, during the patrols, stop and searches in the area.
Meanwhile, three suspects were also arrested for contravention of immigration act at Makhado Policing area.
In another incident, Police seized abandoned items such as shovels, pickaxes, and Mitsubishi truck. According to information, the suspects noticed the Police and fled the scene on foot, and left items.
The arrested suspects will appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon.
The Police investigations are continuing.
