25-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER IN NGHOMUNGHOMU VILLAGE, VHEMBE DISTRICT
POLOKWANE A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old male in Nghomunghomu village, in the Malamulele policing area on Saturday evening, 24 May 2025.
Police received a report at approximately 22:00 regarding a suspected murder in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the body of a male victim who had sustained multiple injuries.
Emergency medical personnel who responded to the scene confirmed that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident stemmed from an altercation between the suspect and the victim. The suspect allegedly assaulted and stabbed the deceased during the confrontation, resulting in fatal injuries.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene and remains in police custody. He is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court in due course on a charge of murder.
The motive for the incident is currently under investigation, and police are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
