A 18-YEAR-OLD MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED FOLLOWING STABBING INCIDENT AT MOOKGO VILLAGE, MOKWAKWAILA
POLOKWANE: The Police in Mokwakwaila under the Mopani District have arrested an 18-year-old male suspect in connection with a murder that occurred on, 09 February 2026, at around 21:20, at Mookgo Village, Block 7.
Police received a complaint from the Community Service Centre (CSC) regarding a murder at the above-mentioned location. They immediately proceeded to the scene.
Upon arrival, Police were met by a male who pointed out the victim, an 18-year-old male, lying on the ground. According to preliminary investigations, the deceased was walking along the street with a friend when he was allegedly attacked by the suspect, who stabbed him in the upper body before fleeing the scene on foot.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel attended to the victim and certified him dead at the scene.
The suspect was subsequently traced and arrested.
He is expected to appear before the Kgapane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 12 February 2026, facing a charge of murder.
Police investigations are ongoing.
