About the Learnership Programme
The learnership is a fully structured 12-month programme that integrates classroom-based learning with real-world workplace experience. Learners will be placed in operational environments within Value Group, where they will actively participate in daily logistics and supply chain activities under professional supervision.
Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be awarded an Occupational Certificate: Supply Chain Practitioner (NQF Level 5), which is recognised nationally and aligned with industry requirements. This qualification significantly enhances employability and opens doors to various entry-level and intermediate roles in logistics, warehousing, distribution, procurement, and supply chain operations.

Learnership Structure
1. Classroom-Based Training
Learners will attend formal training sessions one week per month, which will include both theoretical and practical learning components. These sessions are designed to build a strong foundation in supply chain principles and operational practices.

- Logistics Operations and Distribution

2. Workplace Experience
For the remainder of the month, learners will be placed in an operational work environment, where they will apply their knowledge in real-life situations. Learners will gain experience in:

- Stock control and inventory processes
- Dispatch and receiving operations

3. Work Schedule
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Working Hours: 07:00 – 17:00
- Overtime: May be required depending on operational needs
Learners are expected to demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and commitment throughout the programme.
4. EISA Examination
At the end of the programme, learners will be required to sit for the EISA (External Integrated Summative Assessment). Successful completion of this assessment is mandatory in order to obtain the Occupational Certificate.
Recruitment and Selection Process
Value Group follows a fair, transparent, and competency-based recruitment process to ensure that suitable candidates are selected for the learnership.
The selection process includes the following stages:
1. Application Screening
All applications will be reviewed to ensure that minimum requirements are met and that the required documentation has been submitted.
2. Face-to-Face Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a panel-based face-to-face interview at the relevant regional location. This interview will assess communication skills, motivation, and suitability for the programme.
3. Literacy and Numeracy Assessment
Candidates will be required to complete literacy and numeracy assessments to evaluate their basic competency levels, which are essential for success in the learnership.
4. Criminal Background Check
A criminal record check will be conducted as part of the final selection process. Successful clearance is required for placement.
Stipend and Learner Support
Learners who are accepted into the programme will receive a monthly stipend. The stipend is intended to assist with transport and travel costs to and from the workplace site where the learner will be based.
While this is not a salaried position, the stipend aims to reduce financial barriers and support learners throughout the duration of the programme.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the 2026–2027 Unemployed Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 21 and 29 years old at the time of application
- Employment Status: Must be unemployed
- Education:
- Must have a Matric Certificate
- Minimum 50% pass rate
- Citizenship: South African citizen
- Availability: Must be available to commit to the full 12-month programme
- Interest: Demonstrated interest in logistics and supply chain operations
