BREAKING NEWS : WAO Condemns Online Bullying of Hunadi the Host, Calls for Prosecution
The World Anti Cyber Bullying Organisation (WAO) has condemned the online bullying of Thobela FM presenter Hunadi the Host, calling for the law to take its course against Limpopo social media influencers responsible for the harassment.
WAO founder Mahlatse Phaladi says the continuous online bullying has taken a toll on Hunadi’s mental health, forcing her to abandon her “Ditoukong event”. Phaladi emphasizes that the attacks are unwarranted, as Hunadi is not directly involved in the Sepedi Music Awards event.
“Hunadi became a victim of online bullying after many Limpopo social media influencers blamed her for nomination selection on Limpopo Sepedi Influencers Awards co-hosted by Thobela FM,” Phaladi explains. “We have cautioned online users to desist from bullying Hunadi, but instead, they have continued to target her.”
Phaladi warns that victims of online bullying are at risk of taking their own lives due to the constant harassment. “We worked on several incidents where victims of online bullying took their own lives. We urge online users to stop targeting Hunadi and be considerate of her mental wellbeing.”
WAO plans to write to the Limpopo Human Rights Commission to ensure that those responsible for the online bullying are prosecuted. “We will not tolerate online bullying, and we will do everything in our power to protect Hunadi and other victims,” Phaladi says.
The organisation’s statement has sparked a wave of support for Hunadi, with many calling for an end to online bullying and harassment.
