THABAZIMBI FATHER GRANTED BAIL FOLLOWING TRAGIC SHOOTING INCIDENT INVOLVING 11-YEAR-OLD BOY
POLOKWANE: The Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to a 43-year-old man following a tragic incident in which his 11-year-old son accidentally shot and killed a farm worker at a farm in Thabazimbi on Saturday, 11 October 2025.
The father, who was arrested and charged with negligent handling of a firearm, was released on R3,000 bail. The matter has been postponed to 12 December 2025 for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the child will undergo an assessment process in accordance with the provisions of the Child Justice Act.
Police investigations are continuing. The identity of the father cannot be disclosed to protect the identity of the minor child involved in the incident.
