Jomo Sono: Kaizer Chiefs Might Be Forgotten Like Swallows

South African football legend Jomo Sono has dropped a bombshell, warning Kaizer Chiefs that if they don’t start matching Mamelodi Sundowns in the transfer market, they could end up forgotten like Moroka Swallows. “Back in the day, Chiefs had financial muscle, they were big guns,” said Sono. “But right now, they can’t compete financially like they used to. Sundowns is owned by one of the richest man in the country they buy quality, they win trophies.”

Sono didn’t hold back, saying Kaizer Chiefs must act fast. “If they don’t invest in big players like Sundowns do, in 20 years we might be asking where is Kaizer Chiefs, just like we ask where is Swallows today.”

He went on to say that Mamelodi Sundowns have officially dethroned both Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. “They are the new kings of the PSL, and unless something changes, they will dominate for years just like PSG does in France. It’s normal now, Sundowns are miles ahead.
