THREE ACCUSED APPEARED IN COURT FOR ALLEGED LINKED TO CASH-IN-TRANSIT HEIST

Limpopo : Three accused, Joseph Morake (57),Ntadi Nemadzivhanani (24), and Fana Muphete Mmako (54) appeared in the Siyabuswa Magistrate Court on charges that are linked to the cash-in-transit heist on 20 May 2024.

O n 17 May 2024 an information was receivedof the whereabouts of the suspects who allegedly committed a cash-in-transit heist at Gamatlalaramoshebo village outside Marble Hall in Limpopo Province on 15 May 2024.

A Multi-disciplinary operation was conducted between the Polokwane DPCI: Hawks SOCI, Sekhukhune District Task Team, Limpopo Provincial Tactical Response Team (TRT), Limpopo Provincial Crime Intelligence (CI), Mpumalanga Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC), Mpumalanga Bomb Explosive Unit, and the G4S Cash Solution Company was conducted.

The accused were traced and arrested in different areas Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces. During the arrest the police seized the following items:

· 10 X electrical commercial detonator

· Explosives Trip Cord

· Bag

· 1 X R1

· 31 rounds of R1 rifle

· 1 magazine

· 1 x R4 rifle

· 33 rounds of R4 rifle

· 2X magazines of rifle

· 2 X AK47 rifles

· 2 magazines of AK47

· Suspected stolen Izusu bakkie

· Suspected VW Golf GTI

The accused appeared in court on separate charges. Moroke was granted bail of fifteen thousand rand (R15 000-00) for possession of presumed stole motor vehicles and ammunition, Nemadzivhanani granted a bail of two thousand rand (R2000-00) the matter has been remanded to 26 June 2024. Mmako was charged with unlawful possession unlicensed firearms, ammunition and explosives. His matter was remanded to 22 May 2024 for formal bail application.

The Hawks are busy with the follow up investigation. More arrests are imminent.

The Provincial Head of the Hawks in Limpopo Province Major General(Adv) Gopz Govender applauded the wonderful work of the Multi-disciplinary team. He further warns the outstanding suspects to hand themselves to the police before the Hawks pounce on them.
