43-YEAR-OLD ETHIOPIAN NATIONAL SHOP OWNER ARRESTED FOR DEALING IN ILLICIT DRUGS AT JANE FURSE REMANDED IN CUSTODY

POLOKWANE: The 43-year-old Ethiopian national male suspect
Clarinet Desalegn Masebo, arrested for dealing in illicit drugs at a complex in Jane Furse on Tuesday, April 16, made his first court appearance before Nebo Magistrate’s Court today. His case was postponed until 25 April 2024 for formal bail application.

The arrest emanates after the Provincial Organised Crime Unit acted on a tip-off, and cornered the suspect in town where a search operation was conducted at his place of residence in the Morena complex. Police found 74 sachets of heroine and one big plastic bag containing a brownish powder substance suspected to be heroine inside the house.

The estimated street value of drugs is one million (R1000 000-00), and an undisclosed amount of money was also seized during the operation.

Police investigations continue.
