POLICE HUNT FOR SUSPECTS WHO GANGRAPED A 29-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IN LULEKANI, ANOTHER MINOR CHILD RAPED AT HOEDSPRUIT

POLOKWANE: The Police Detectives at Phalaborwa FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences) Unit, have launched a manhunt for suspects who allegedly raped two victims at separate locations and incidents. The incidents happened at Lulekani and Hoedspruit policing areas.

According to the information received, on 05 April 2024, at about 22h45, a woman aged 29 was with her male friend she met in the local tavern at Biko location under Lulekani policing area.

Apparently she requested him to accompany her to the bathroom outside. It appears they went to nearby bushes, whilst there, two unknown guys armed with firearm and knife, arrived at threatened them. They pushed them deep into the bushes, whereby they found another two males who were also armed.

Two suspects left with her to a different direction, while the other two went with the male victim to another direction. After some time, she heard gunshots and the two suspects returned. All four suspects gang raped her. Thereafter, they left her there and fled the scene. She managed to go at the main road and requested help from motorists. She was assisted and taken to local Police Station, where she opened a case of rape.

Meanwhile in Hoedspruit, a 06-year-old child girl was allegedly raped by an unknown suspect while she was at the school, on Friday, 05 April 2024. Her mother became aware of the ordeal, after she took off her school uniform as well as her underwear with blood stains. She asked her child and that’s when the minor informed her that she was raped by another learner at school.

She immediately took her to local clinic. The victim was further transferred to hospital for medical treatment. A rape case was registered for further investigations.

The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has ordered the team of Investigators at Phalaborwa FCS to track down suspects responsible for these horrendous crime.
