POLOKWANE: A 32 year-old woman, Mimmy Motshana who was reported missing last week on Monday 25 March 2024 at Namakgale policing area was found dead at Nyakelang bushes.
The deceased allegedly disappeared from her residence on 19 March 2024 and did not inform anyone about her destination. Efforts were made to locate the victim at relatives, friends and surrounding areas she frequently visited but were not successful.
On Monday 01 April 2024 at 09:00, police received a complaint from a member of the community about a woman who was allegedly hanging on a tree at Nyakelang bushes and rushed to the area. Upon their arrival found a 32 year-old woman hanging on a tree with a rope tied around her neck and in a state of decomposition.
The members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned and certified her dead on arrival at the scene. The deceased was positively identified by her next of kin at the scene and taken by a Forensic Pathology Official for a post-mortem to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Police have opened an inquest case as no foul play is suspected and investigations are continuing.
