POLICE APPREHEND A 31-YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM, AMMUNITION AND SUSPECTED STOLEN PROPERTIES

POLOKWANE: SAPS members of Burgersfort and Sekhukhune District have arrested a 31-year-old male suspect, who was found in possession of unlicensed firearm with ammunition and suspected stolen properties during Operation Kukula at Ga-Marishane village in Nebo policing precinct, on Wednesday, 31 January 2024 at around 18h00.

The suspect is linked to a case of burglary that occurred on 30 January 2024 at Ditshweung Section in Jane Furse policing. During the arrest police recovered suspected stolen items such as 01x cellphone, clothes, shoes, 01x laptop, 2x handyline drill machines, and 2x boxes of speakers.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Police, Major General Jan Scheepers, has applauded the Police for arresting the suspect and recovering the firearm.

He will be charged with possession of unlicensed firearm with ammunition, possession of suspected stolen properties, and burglary residence cases.

The suspect will appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court soon.
