MASSIVE MANHUNT ACTIVATED FOLLOWING THE BRUTAL MURDER OF A 31 YEAR-OLD WOMAN IN POLOKWANE

POLOKWANE: The Limpopo Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit have activated a massive manhunt of unknown suspects responsible for the brutal murder of a 31 year-old woman who was found laying at Rita gravel road under Sebayeng policing area in the Capricorn District on Sunday 28 January 2024.

The deceased was residing at Khwezi Street, Thornhill Park in Polokwane, when she was reported missing at the local police station on Monday, 28 January 2024.

It is alleged that the victim left her residence on Sunday, 28 January 2024, at around 17:00, going to town using a meter taxi, but she never returned home.

The same day, on Sunday, at about 21:45, police in Sebayeng discovered an unknown body of a woman at a gravel road.

The deceased was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the upper body and was wearing black trousers and a black T-shirt with peach sandals.

A murder case was opened, and police investigations commenced while locating her family.

On Tuesday, 30 January 2024, Sebayeng police managed to locate the family of the deceased who positively identified her as Eunice Masemola, aged 31.

The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage, and a manhunt of the unknown suspects is underway.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Major General Jan Scheepers has condemned the incident and encouraged the community to assist police with any information relating to the murder.
