MAN IN COURT FOR ACCIDENT INVOLVING MINISTER’S FAMILY MEMBERS
Celumusa Ngwenya (34) appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrates’ Court today on six counts of culpable homicide. This relates to the motor vehicle accident that occurred on 17 July 2022, on the N11 highway, outside Ladysmith. The deceased who were family members of Transport Minister, Sindisiwe Chikunga, were aged between 04 and 40 years old.
Following the accident and Prosecutor-guided investigations, Ngwenya appeared in court on summons. During court proceedings today he opted for Legal Aid assistance, and the matter was remanded to 14 February 2024, for consultation and copies of the docket.
Ngwenya will remain out on warning since he was brought to court on summons.
