POLICE ARREST SEVEN UNDOCUMENTED FOREIGN NATIONALS DURING DISRUPTIVE OPERATION IN VHEMBE DISTRICT

POLOKWANE– The South African Police Service (SAPS) Vhembe Illegal Mining Task team executed targeted and disruptive operation resulting in the apprehension of seven undocumented foreign nationals within Musina policing precinct. The operation was conducted on Saturday, 06 January 2024 in collaboration with Immigration authorities.

Seven other people were issued with fines for contravening the Road Traffic Act

“The arrests highlight our commitment to enforcing immigration laws and maintaining the safety and integrity of our borders,” remarked Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.

The seven suspects aged between 17 and 47 are expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges relating to the Contravention of Immigration Act.

Police investigations continue.
