SAPS OPERATIONAL KUKULA (SHANELA) CONTINUE TO CURB CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES IN LIMPOPO PROVINCE

POLOKWANE:The South African Police Service in Limpopo working with other Disciplines continues to curb criminal activities in the Province through intelligence driven and disruptive Operations.

Total number of 1275 suspects were arrested over the period of between Monday 29 October 2023 and Sunday 05 November 2023. These suspects were nabbed for various crimes that included murder, robberies, rape, sexual offences, assaults, burglary theft, fraud, arson, drug related-crimes, possession of suspected stole goods, contravention of immigration act, violation of liquor act and malicious damage to property. The operations were conducted in the
the five districts of the Province.

During the execution of these operations illegal firearms with ammunition and counterfeit goods that includes cigarettes, drugs, liquor, knives and stolen motor vehicles were seized .

These Multi Disciplinary Teams conducted activities such as crime awereness campaigns, roadblocks, compliance inspections, vehicle check points, stop and searches, school visits, blue light patrols and shopping malls and filling stations visits.

The arrested suspects have already started appearing before various Magistrate’s Courts in the five Districts.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in LImpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the success achieved by the teams of operatives and further vouwed that these operations are effective and the Police should joined by the other stakeholders, should up the tempo considering that now we are are fast approaching the Festive Season.
