POLICE SOUGHT INFORMATION, FOLLOWING THE DISCOVERY OF DEAD MAN AT MAVHUNDA VILLAGE

POLOKWANE: Police in Thohoyandou are investigating a case of murder, after a 29-year-old man was found killed at Mavhunda village, in Thohoyandou on Friday, 03 November 2023.

Police were notified about the incident, in which a dead man was lying at the streets of the said village. Upon arrival, the man was found severely injured and the Emergency Medical Services certified him dead at the scene. The deceased was identified as Makungo Awelani from Shayandima Zone 06.

Preliminary information found that, he was assaulted by objects such as stones, sticks and bottles.

Police are investigating a case of murder. The motive behind the incident is not yet established but mob attack cannot be ruled out.
