EFF STATEMENT ON PLANNED POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION.
The EFF condemns in the strongest terms the planned power supply interruption in Mopani
and Vhembe areas. This power supply outage in the affected areas is a clear sabotage on our
economic by the ANC government.
Lack of power supply, means no water supply to the communities, Health facilities, Schools
and many Small businesses that depend on electricity to put food on their tables. Power
outage for 14 hours’ equals putting the lives of patients whose lives depend on the support
machines on line.
Deliberate power outage for such a long time means that the Filling Stations must come to a
standstill which translates to transportation stagnation.
This nonsensical power outage leads the few employees to absent themselves from work due
to lack of transport which leads to non-production and then job losses.
SMMEs like barbershops, restaurants, engineering’s to mention but a few can’t operate
without power.
As the EFF we regard this irresponsible act as a deliberate act of economic sabotage aimed at
total collapse of our country, so that when we take power in next year’s elections, the
country’s economy must have collapsed to its knees.
We therefore urge the Minister of electricity to do our country favour and follow the
footsteps of the Eskom Chairperson and resign.
The time is ripe for the people of Limpopo to Register To Vote EFF ahead of the 2024 National
and Provincial Elections, it is only the EFF that will resolve the energy crisis facing our country
and save the ailing economy!
