DEPARTMENT DISPELS SOCIAL MEDIA MESSAGES CLAIMING THAT THERE IS A CHOLERA POSITIVE CASE IN MANKWENG HOSPITAL AND POLOKWANE SURROUNDINGS
The department wishes to dispel as untrue messages circulating on social media claiming that there are confirmed cholera cases in Mankweng Hospital.
The department wishes to inform the public that there are no confirmed cases of cholera in Limpopo Province. Community members are requested to refrain from peddling fake news as it will cause unnecessary panic. If the National Institute for Communicable Disease confirms any cases in Limpopo, the department will communicate accordingly. Community members are advised to continue taking precautionary measures by practising basic hygiene such as regular washing of hands with water and soap, washing of fruits and vegetables before consumption, boiling unpurified water or treating with disinfectants prior before use.
